Hi! My name is Claire. I was born and raised in Louisiana. Where I’m from food is a love language. Food is meant to be shared with the people you care about.
Baking and cooking has been a passion of mine since I was about 7 in my grandmothers kitchen. When I’m stressed or any slight inconvenience you can probably find me in the kitchen solving my problems through cooking.
I started this blog for a few different reasons. We moved away from a group of friends and family we loved, I had no one else to share my food with, so now I share with y’all. And my oldest daughter always tried putting me on cooking shows. So we compromised on a food blog.
After my divorce I moved to a small Army town with my 2 kids and eventually met my husband, Steven. He brought my daughter Isabella into my life. Fast forward two years, and the Army brought us to San Antonio, Texas.
The name comes from my love of peonies. They are my favorite flower. The pastry part, I love almond croissants. And it rhymes, haha.
I am a sucker for a quick, easy meal though. You’ll find a ton of quick, easy and under 30 minute recipes here. Did I mention I have 3 kids? Easy is best.
A part of growing up in such a small town is I was never exposed to other cultures or cuisines. All I knew was traditional southern cooking. Now that I have my own family I love trying new cuisines and letting my kids experience other flavors of the world.
